Serenity...

When I was younger I went through a phase of being completely obssessed by the anime series 'Sailor Moon'. The tale of the Moon Princess and her loyal Sailor Scouts completely sucked me in. I managed to amass a HUGE collection of pictures during my graphic design class (which sadly, were lost when my old PC died). My love of all things Japanese first began in grade 6 when we had a Sensei (teacher) come on exchange from our sister school in Japan. Doraemon was my first character that I loved,

yes even before Hello Kitty & her Sanrio friends.

As I went through my teenage years, I particularly loved the romantic story between Queen Serenity and King Endymion, characters from the future of Sailor Moon.

There's some really beautiful artwork out there, like this, one of my all-time favourites.

And a cute one of them asleep with their daughter, 'Mini Moon'.

As you can imagine, I was pretty happy the other day when I discovered these at my local markets. 2 whole series (4 discs) on DVD for $20 each!

HAPPY!!! ^_^

  1. OMG 2 Series for $40!? I am very very jealous! I also had an obsession with Princess Serenity and co. I even made myself a necklace out of moonstone when I was 8 and her dress when I was 14 XD Who couldn't fall in love with Serina and Darian? *sigh*

  2. Oh my gosh! I had the biggest crush on Tuxedo mask when I was young! (that's kinda wrong I know but still...) I went to Japan with school in yr 9, and hunted EVERYWHERE for anything sailor moon.
I imagined my bags busting out with sailor moon merch. I scoured everywhere and found but one comic book from a book shop.
My host student said she wasn't cool anymore.
    Devastation. haha

  3. OMG Violet do you have pictures??? I alwasy wished we did Halloween more when I was little because I wanted her dress as my costume!

Trish, I know!! I had the same thing, my best friend in Year 8 went on exchange and she got me a SM puzzle, I still have it but it was the only thing she could find. She said the shopgirls were looking at her like she was a freak :P

I also have some of the Barbie-sized dolls that were at ToysRUs about 5 or 6 years ago... will have to find them to show you (still in their boxes I think)
