Glorious...

A little something I've been using a lot lately is the cutely-packaged and sweet smelling "Hand Food" by British brand Soap & Glory.

I'd used other products from their range before (mainly bath stuff) but not the hand cream. This one was actually a present from Sarah of Temporary Secretary, sent as part of a 'care package' that she posted to me full of lots of cute things!

The tube I have is in the handy travel size, and it really lasts quite awhile. I've been using it on nearly every flight since I got it a few months ago and it's only just started to run out.

The pros are it doesn't feel too greasy and you don't need a lot to get the job done. Some people who are sensitive to fragrance might not like the smell but then again that's true of most of the S&G range. However I find fragrance to be a bonus in my job as not only will it function as a hand cream but also as a 'stink shield' in the event of a smelly cabin; just a dab under my nose can get me through the worst clouds made onboard with a smile! ;P

Previously Soap & Glory was only available in the UK but I have since seen it sold at Sephora in the US and also in various locations in Oz. For my Dubai peeps who don't travel, you can buy it at most Boots outlets. (Keep an eye out for the 3-for-2 specials to get extra bang for your buck!)

Catch-Up

Been awhile since I made any posts. Not really any excuse aside from the short Blogger outage and a general lack of motivation. I'd had a draft post about my Doha trip sitting in my dashboard for a little while now; I was adding bits here and there but it seems that the most recent additions I made disappeared. I think other people have had the same problems with their comments disappearing!

Of course, I like to blog for fun so when it starts feeling too much like work, I tend to get bored and would rather do other stuff. But, I don't want to leave it too long without any kind of update so I thought I'd just post about some other things that have been going on. I have a list somewhere of all the back-posts I have to make so hopefully I won't forget anything once I start putting up some more photos :P

As I probably mentioned, I finally got a trip to Sydney and it was a fun time. It just so happened that my Twitter friends Nicky and Gavin would be in town at the same time, so we got to catch up which was really nice. Post on that to follow of course.

I've seen a couple of movies at the cinema and gorged on far too much popcorn than is probably good for me (I just can't resist proper movie popcorn!). I saw "Something Borrowed" which while funny in places was frankly just a teeny bit depressing. The other was "Water for Elephants" which I was pleasantly surprised by and liked a lot more than I expected to. I totally adored most of Reese Witherspoon's wardrobe, of course, especially her black and white outfit at the end and all of the gorgeous accessories.

My other recent trips included Bangkok/Hong Kong and yesterday I came back from Beijing for the first time. Took quite a few pictures on that trip which I will try to post a few of once I've uploaded & edited them.

Today has just been a rest day, catching up on laundry & emails and wasting time checking out all the neat stuff for sale on Etsy. Got my eye on a few vintage airline pieces so maybe just maybe I will buy a little something for myself with our bonus payment after I bank most of it in my savigns account. I thought it was pretty good to get a bonus, while some people said it should have been more, something is better than nothing and it sure is something at least!!! =)

In other news I met a blog reader randomly on the way back from supermarket, it turns out she also works for my airline AND we even live in the same building!! :) So if you enjoy reading about the FA lifestyle hop on over and say hi to Nicole at her blog "The Trolley Dolly". Nicole is a newish FA who comes from Cape Town.

Hope you're all having a nice weekend!

Read At Your Own Risk...

Seriously.

I don't know if it's the writing, the deviousness or the hilarious cartoons, but this is one of THE funniest blogs I've seen in a long time.

Hyperbole And A Half

You'll laugh 'til you die. I'm not kidding, I woke up my roommate.

Do not miss 'God of Cake'.

One Necklace, Two Styles

Earlier this year, Lady Melbourne was a stylist for the GPO 'Win Your Spring Racing Outfit' competition. In one of her blog posts about the shopping day, Lady M commented that she admired the necklace which her winner, Claire, was wearing on the day.

(Photo from Melbourne GPO's Flickr stream)

It just so happened that I had bought a few of these on sale, and they had been sitting unworn in my jewellery box. I thought what better home could it have than to go to Lady M who I was sure would make it feel more than welcome in her wardrobe! :P

I still have the same necklace in the white/clear version, and here it is in some photos I took last month. At the time I didn't have access to the outfit that I REALLY wanted to wear, so I tried to do something a little different to usual. I was also trying to get some photos that didn't look like I held out the camera and pressed the button!

Lady M also styled the jewellery in her own interpretation, pop on over to her blog for a peep!

A Nuffnang Christmas!

I attended the Nuffnang Christmas Party last week, my first such event for meeting other bloggers & it was really fun!

The theme for the night was blue, and plenty of it to be had, from blue clothes to blue table decorations and blue candy canes on the table.

It was great to meet other bloggers (and find new blogs to read!) and the food was really great, especially my favourite, the calimari :)

Like true bloggers/Twitter addicts, we spent most of the time Tweeting or updating Facebook status. In any other company this would be rude, but under these circumstances it was entirely appropriate :)

Anyway here's some photos of the night, taken by Olengjus

Hunter/Gatherer

Just in time for the festive season comes a great competition from Trish at Trish Hunter Finds, to celebrate her new online store. All you have to do to be in with a chance is to head over to Trish's blog, and get the link code for THF. Then post it on your blog, mentioning the comp and you're done! :)

It's a great prize, with a copy of Love Vintage and more importantly, a THF tote bag so you can get rid of those nasty plastics at the checkout in Coles :)

To check out the goodies in the online store, just click here to visit!
