Well finally we are done with training school. It's kind of a relief but also scary too. No longer in the safe class environment with my batchmates and trainers, I now face real passengers and the actual aircraft that I've never set foot on before!!!
Of course it's not SO scary for me, being that I've flown before, but still... I tend to be moe critical of myself because I HAVE done this before, and I don't want to mess up or look stupid. So I need to keep reminding myself that I'm new and it's ok to be nervous and to ask for help :)
Over my last few days off, I've been doing things around the house, having some time at the mall, meeting up with friends visting Dubai, and of course eating lots of yummy food!
I really must stay away from the bookstore, Kinokuniya is a dangerous money-spending black hole of literary inspiration and goodness :P
I've also been thinking about getting a sewing machine at some point in the future. I'd like to begin making some things for myself, just easy projects like skirts and tops. All the clothes in Dubai are so samey and from chain stores. I haven't had a chance to get to the market in Jumeirah yet but I've heard it's good. A lot of the dresses and skirts here are quite short, I don't like it. I mean they'd be fine in Oz or the UK but here I want to be a bit more respectful, plus wearing short skirts mean men stare at you a lot. I want to find something in between this and the way the local women dress. Even with the abayas on they are so stylish, I had to really stop myself from staring at this one girl on the metro, she was the most beautiful woman I've seen in my time here, wish I could have gotten a picture but of course that's not allowed!
Now I'm just studying my manual before my supernumerary (SUPY) flight tomorrow. Basically it means I'm extra to the regular crew so I can see and learn what goes on before I do it for real. I'm going to London, yay! (Must stay away from the high street, must stay away from the high street!!)
Bye bye!
